Discrimination, Harassment and Retaliation at Facebook’s Content Moderation Office in Tampa, Florida

Thompson Legal Center attorney, KC Hopkinson, was recently interviewed about the discrimination and severe harassment her clients are enduring while working for Cognizant in Tampa, Florida.  A journalist for The Verge, Casey Newton, wrote an article “The Trauma Floor” where he describes the deplorable work conditions at Cognizant’s Phoenix, Arizona location. Newton decided to visit Cognizant’s Tampa office and was granted interviews by current and former Cognizant employees despite a nondisclosure agreement that all employees are required to sign. In his most recent article, “Bodies in Seats”, Newton explains the fear that Cognizant’s Tampa employees face from threats of violence from co-workers, the filthy workplace and the complaints of discrimination and sexual harassment that are laughed off by their managers.  KC Hopkinson talks about her clients struggling to be treated like human beings while at work at Cognizant. These clients represent individuals being discriminated against and harassed because of their sex, sexual preference, race, color and pregnancy. Unfortunately, it seems that this is only beginning to scratch the surface as many employees have been threatened with gun violence, physical harm and mental torment.

The work situation described in the article is an extreme example of discrimination, retaliation and harassment in the workplace.  If you or someone you know has been discriminated against or sexually harassed at work, please call Thompson Legal Center at (813) 769-3900. We are here to help with your pursuit for justice.
